Thankful Thoughts this Thanksgiving

by Lavender Elizabeth, November 23, 2017
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope that your day is filled with friends, family, and some delicious food. I couldn't let this day pass without sharing what I'm most thankful for at this time in my life. It can be so easy to get wrapped up in the start of the holiday season, so I wanted to make sure I set some time apart to remember all that I have to be thankful for.

I am thankful for a God that loves us unconditionally. For allowing us to lay everything at his feet, coming before him in all our brokenness. For the beauty that's He's created for us to enjoy, from the changing leaves to colorful sunsets.

I am thankful for the proximity to my family. Living at home has been the most surprising blessing in my life. I never thought I'd be living at home again, particularly at 25, but it's been amazing. Spending time with my parents as an adult is so different than when I was in high school. We spend time together in a different capacity and I love it. Although I miss living with my sister, having her only a couple of hours away is perfect. We talk on the phone constantly, so it's like we're still together. And of course, living with my puppies has been the best. I love having two little fur-balls who love to love. They constantly want to snuggle and show their appreciation for you, and that is so pure.

I am thankful to be living in a home that is so warm and welcoming. When I enter the door, I immediately exhale. My mom has always created a space that allows people to be themselves. It's comfort in a home.

I am beyond thankful for the friendships I've developed over the years. I don't take for granted how lucky I am to have remained friends with people from each place I've lived. I have been blessed with supportive, caring, thoughtful, crazy, loving friends. From grade three to high school to college, my friends are the best!

I am thankful for friendships that are developing here in my new town. I've been here for almost six months and I feel like I have friendships that are blossoming into something truly wonderful. Having women of God support me and love me is one of the best things that has come from moving here.

I am thankful to finally be working in the field that I've been pursuing since college. Working in human resources is exactly what I needed and wanted, and being able to do it at a company that has been a part of my family for fifteen years is the cherry on top.

I am also thankful for the little things. For lattes from Starbucks; my growing jewelry collection; comfortable sweats; designing my bedroom; this blog; the insta hot in the kitchen to make tea quickly; cozy blankets; Netflix; my Mazda; my Spotify playlists; bright beautiful days outside; and so much more.

I encourage each of you to take a moment to remember what you're thankful for.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving spent with those you love.
