Weekend Recap: Christmas Festivities

in , by Lavender Elizabeth, December 07, 2017
This past weekend was the perfect way to kick of the Christmas season. I checked off three of my to dos in three days - visited the Morton Arboretum's Illumination, went to Chicago's Christkindlmarket, and hosted a table at an Advent Tea. It was a great first weekend of December spent with friends.

FRIDAY: MORTON ARBORETUM - ILLUMINATION
A group of us from work headed to the Morton Arboretum's Christmas light show, Illumination, Friday night. We got there at the perfect time, just as it was getting dark. We sipped hot chocolate, watched the light shows, and enjoyed a fun night together.

SATURDAY: UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER BRUNCH + CHRISTKINDLMARKET
Saturday was so fun! A group of us met at a friend's place in Chicago for an ugly Christmas sweater brunch and white elephant gift exchange. From there, we headed to Christkindlmarket where we walked around and drank glühwein (out of commemorative mugs). From there, we headed to a bar downtown and then to dinner. It was a great day!

SUNDAY: ADVENT TEA
One of my mom's friends asked if I'd want to host a table at the annual Advent Tea and I, of course, said yes! A group of my girlfriends came to drink tea, listen to Tatiana Cameron sing Christmas music, and have an amazing lunch at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. It was such an elegant and fun end to the weekend.
