It's hard to believe we're already halfway through the month of April; time seems to just be flying by! Last month turned out to be incredibly busy, both with travel and work, which is, honestly, just how I like it. I'm someone who thrives on being busy and having my calendar full. I did, however, take some down time when I could to ensure my thyroid behaved itself. ;) As luck would have it, my company gave us a day off for mental health at the end of the month, which is exactly what I needed. I had a massage, did some crafting, and spent time purely relaxing. For a glimpse into both my down time and busy time, read below.
MY FAVORITE MARCH MOMENTS
Family Trip to South Carolina
The five of us hadn't all been together in ten months, so having a weekend with just each other was so nice. We went to different restaurants (all very tasty), took a tour of my dad's plant, celebrated our birthdays, drank tea, and enjoyed each others' company. And of course, I took every moment I could to soak up my Kinchie snuggles! I love my family and am so glad we were able to set time aside to all be together like this.
Trip to Canada
Unfortunately, right after our South Carolina trip, my grandma passed away. Although heartbreaking, it was her time, as she had spent several years fighting progressive Alzheimer's. In her passing, she gave us the opportunity to all be together as a family, something we haven't done in quite some time. I drove the many hours there, picking my sister up on the way. I love to drive, so it was actually wonderfully relaxing to have that time to myself. But best of all, I spent quality time with my cousins, drank copious amounts of Tim Hortons, and honored the memory of my Grandma.
Cocktails with Keiko
One of my best friends from childhood was in town for work, so we were able to meet up for drinks. We hadn't see each other in a couple years, but picked up right where we left off. I guess that's what happens when you've been friends with someone for over twenty years! It was a quick visit, but so special. We are in the exact same place in life, so were able to swap stories about dating, work, and more that the other 100% related to. Having lifelong friendships like that are the best.
