Spending A Month in Paris

Dear Wedding Day is going French! Starting tomorrow, I will be living in Paris for the month of July, soaking up the culture and bringing it to this blog.

Throughout the month I'll be showing you inspiration that I find during my trip, including weekend adventures that I have in other countries.

One change that will be coming this month is the absence of Friendly Inspirations. Rather than plan weddings from afar, I'm going to do French-inspired wedding ideas. But not to worry, Friendly Inspirations will be back in August with summer weddings!

Starting today, these next two weeks are going to be all about France!

Friendly Inspiration: Micaela

Welcome back to this week's Friendly Inspiration! This wedding takes a typical fall colour palette and turns it into a beautiful spring wedding! To see the inspiration behind this day, see it here!

Micaela's Friendly Inspiration:

The Colour Palette: This day is based on four shades: tan, cream, gold, and maroon.

The Invitations: A simple background with maroon writing will invite the guests to the wedding.

The Venue:

The Ceremony Location: The ceremony will take place at the bride's home church in the Sacramento area of California.

The Reception Location: The reception will be held outdoors at a park close to the church.

The Bride:

The Dress: In order to keep the bride's shoulders covered, she will wear this gorgeous Allure Modest lace gown.

The Accessories & Hair: The bride will accessorize her dress with diamond and pearl earrings and a simple pearl necklace. Her hair will be side-swept curls in order to show off the neckline of the dress and will be accented with a simple veil.

The Bridesmaids: The bridesmaids' shoulders will also be covered with this simple tan After Six dress. The bridesmaids, along with the bride, will hold bright maroon chrysanthemum bouquets.

The Groom & Groomsmen: The groom and groomsmen will be in tan vests, cream shirts, and a deep maroon tie. To match the bouquets, the groomsmen will wear bright maroon boutonnieres.

The Ceremony Decor: The ceremony decor will be kept simple with petals lining the aisle and simple bouquets hanging on the pews with ribbon.

The Escort Cards: To introduce the literary feel of the reception, the guests will be guided to their seats with the use of old-school library card envelopes.

The Reception Decor: The picnic tables at the park will be decorated with tan tablecloths and hanging twinkle lights. The centrepieces will be a combination of vintage books and maroon and cream flowers.

The Guestbook: The guests can leave love notes to the couple with the help of a typewriter.

The Cake: The cake will have a simple cream background decorated with gold-detailed flowers and maroon ribbons. The cake will bring in the literary theme with a gold "Happily Ever After" topper.

The Favours: Loose tea leaves will be given to the guests in vintage book page favour bags.

The Placeway wedding was pure perfection. You could feel the love radiating from not only Jamie and Mike, but from the family and friends that were witnessing this partnership. Jamie and Mike centered their day on the colours peach and aqua, utilizing this colour in the flowers, wedding party wardrobe, menus and programs. To include the couple's love of coffee, they gave their guests fresh coffee beans. I loved that they incorporated this part of their love story in both their engagement photos and their wedding day. From start to finish, the love that Jamie and Mike shared was poured into their wedding day, making it a beautiful night to remember for all of their guests.
