Recipe // Festive Candy Corn Cupcakes

Festive food is so fun when celebrating a holiday. For Halloween this year, my roommates and I are hosting a dinner and movie night with friends. I was in charge of dessert, so decided to make candy corn cupcakes. The super-easy-to-make directions are below.

white cake mix (I like Betty Crocker)
yellow food coloring
red food coloring
white frosting
candy corn

1. Follow the directions on the cake mix to make batter.
2. Divide the batter into three.
3. In one-third, add yellow food coloring until bright yellow.
4. In other third, add yellow and red food coloring to make bright orange.
5. In cupcake tin, add first layer: 1 tablespoon of yellow batter.
6. Add second layer: 1 tablespoon of orange batter.
7. Add third layer: ½ tablespoon of white batter.
8. Bake according to box directions.
9. Let cool and add white frosting.
10. Top with candy corn.
