2019 // My Year to be Enough

in , by Lavender Elizabeth, January 03, 2019
"I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14

A couple of years ago, I decided that rather than make "resolutions," I'd prefer to have a word that defines my year. For 2017, I chose the word JOY, and for 2018, INTENTION. This year, the word that's been on my heart is ENOUGH. I've realized over the past few months that I'm starting to compare a lot. Compare my experiences, what kind of events I'm attending, how my photos compare to other bloggers, etc. I'm confident in who I am, but every now and again, I have these moments, and that's when the comparison creeps in. This year, I want to be remember that I am enough.

I want to take to heart that I am enough in Christ. Whether I'm staying home, going out, gaining weight, etc., I am enough in Christ's eyes. I don't need to seek approval from others. He created me; I was fearfully and wonderfully made; and that right there, is all that counts. I am enough in my relationship with my God.

Along with focusing my mentality on "enough," I've also set six goals for 2019. Resolutions, to me, can easily be broken, but goals are something to strive towards. They're a way to improve my life, not change it.

My 2019 Goals:

Workout at least 3 times a week to hopefully improve my health.
---
Travel once a month. This could be out of the country or exploring somewhere within Illinois.
---
Get plugged into my church by joining small groups, attending events, and being present at church services.
---
Live at my apartment during the workweek (rather than stay at my parents' house).
---
Continue to work on Lavender Elizabeth by gaining new insights and sharpening my skills.
---
Have fun. Experience as much as I can, make new friends, spend time with old ones, and enjoy every bit of 2019 that I can.

What are your goals for the new year?
